Meditation Math

"You should sit in meditation for 20 minutes a day, unless you're too busy; then you should sit for an hour." - Zen Proverb


Modern science is proving this ancient proverb to be true. When we carve out time for meditation, we are more productive and perform better. I'm not a big proponent of pushing for more productivity and performance (enough already!) -- but I can confirm that I have a feeling of spaciousness and calm when I make time to meditate. It's as if, when I meditate, time stretches and becomes more abundant.


The 2 meditations below are an invitation into this paradox and begin with a reading of Gunilla Norris' poem "Paradox of Noise."
