I want to share an idea - and get feedback! - for a new meditation opportunity: "Meditation Pals," a little sweet treat for summer. 🍒
WHY:
For many of us, summer has a different schedule than the school year. This can make getting your (my) tush on the seat to meditate extra hard -- but it could also open the opportunity for some buddy-ing up and boosting each other. Maybe this is a good time of year to make some connections and enrich our practices?
WHAT:
The loose concept is that anyone who is interested will be connected to a pal or two. I was thinking we'd come together on Zoom and then be split off into "zoom rooms" to kick it off -- but if scheduling is too tricky, we can skip the zoom. Once connected with your pal(s), in a zoom room or otherwise, you'd be prompted to share a little about your meditation practice (e.g., what works for you/what doesn't, do you have a goal for how often you'd like to sit, etc.) and how you'd like to connect/be supported over the summer. For example: Do you want to sit together? Do you want to text each other encouragement? Do you want to check-in once a week? Do you want to send each other your favorite guided meditations? There are a lot of options. I'll bring some suggestions, but my guess is that you all have a lot of ideas from your meditation practices and/or other parts of your life!
WHO:
Anyone who is interested! If that's you, please let me know. Or, if it might be you, but you aren't sure yet, let me know that too!
WHEN:
July and August. If people are into this idea, I'll send around a doodle poll to try to get us on a zoom and/or you can connect to your pal directly (without the zoom).
WHERE:
Online, on phones, maybe even in-person.
WHY #2:
Like learning a musical instrument, getting more consistent with meditation has exponential rewards. 🎶 And, like so many things for us humans, doing things with other people makes the experience richer, deeper, and longer-lasting. 💜
Ok, thanks for reading! You're awesome!
