Tend to the Light: Journal Prompts for Winter

As the nights continue to get longer in the northern hemisphere, I've found myself thinking about light - literal and metaphoric.

A few questions I've been sitting with - and am sharing here, in case they are also helpful for you:

🕯 What lights me up?

🕯 What provides a beacon of safety and hope in my community — and how can I add fuel to its energy?

🕯 Who illuminates my path? Can I hold the torch for someone else?

🕯 What - and who or with whom - do I want to turn towards and tend?

Grab your favorite pen (the one that feels so satisfying as it moves across the paper!) and a journal. Take a few deep breaths and then answer these questions without over thinking. Just let the thoughts flow. There is no right or wrong - but maybe what you write will be "illuminating." (I'm sorry! Not sorry! I love puns. :)

And, some inspirational quotes:

🔥 "You have to find what sparks a light in you, so that you, in your own way, can illuminate the world." - Oprah Winfrey

🔥 "There is always light, if only we're brave enough to see it. If only we're brave enough to be it." - Amanda Gorman

🔥 "There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it." - Edith Wharton

🔥 "Lighthouses don't go running all over the island looking for boats to save; they just stand their shining." - Anne Lamott

🔥 "What we practice gets stronger. What we don't practice gets weaker." - Anonymous

Sending love and light to you!
