3 Questions for Finding Purpose

ree

If you're reading this, first of all - thank you! I appreciate you being here! Second, as a self-selecting group, I'm guessing you wouldn't mind a little more calm in your own life - and a little more equity, justice, and peace in the world.

Have you tried Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson's Climate* Venn Diagram as a way to approach the big things in a way that feels doable, grounded, and even joyful?

Give it a go!

Set your phone's timer for 10-minutes and jot down answers to 3 questions:

  1. What brings you joy? Or put other ways - what lights your fire or fills your bucket?

  2. What are you good at?  Or, what skills, resources, and talents to you bring?

  3. What needs doing? Don't worry if you don't know all the science, data, and research -- in your own words, what would make the world a better place?

Now, take a look back over your answers. Where is there overlap? Where can you bring your skill set to create more joy in your life and a better world?

For added fun: Get a friend to do it also. Then discuss.

*Dr. Johnson designed this to help people figure out how they could help with the climate crisis. You can focus the needs on the climate crisis - or whatever issue of justice and equity calls to you. Social justice is intersectional, so its hard to move the needle on one thing without also making other thigns better. But there is a lot that needs doing in climate change, so if you're not sure where to start, that's a good one!
